2009 doesn’t seem like the year for auto shows for Mitsubishi. After being a no show at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, Mitsubishi announced that it has pulled out of the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as it faces “extraordinary business and financial challenges.”

According to Automotive News, Mitsubishi said that it will only have presence at the 2009 Germany Auto Show in Europe this year. The Japanese automaker also said that it will only attend one auto show per region. Mitsubishi has yet to confirm presence at the 2009 New York Auto Show.

Head of Mitsubishi Germany, Martin van Vugt, said that the company will organize its own local marketing campaigns, arranging “our own auto shows in car dealerships.”

In Geneva, Mitsubishi will unveil the i MiEV Sport Air.
